Roland releases VersaArt RE-640 Printer

Roland DGA Corp. (Irvine, CA) has introduced its 64-in.-wide VersaArt RE-640 four-color, inkjet printer that comprises the company’s newest eight-channel, gold-plated printhead technology and other advanced production and print-quality features, at, Roland says, at attractive price. The printheads fire seven different size drops at print speeds up to 248.6 sq. ft./hr., to produce high-quality images for volume production of signs, posters, vehicle and wall wraps, banners, backlit displays and more, for both indoor and outdoor applications.
The printers’ double CMYK (Eco-Sol MAX) ink configuration prevents banding in bi-directional mode, and Roland’s Intelligent Pass Control further enhances image quality by minimizing ink bleeds; it also ensures precise media feeds. In addition, the VersaArt RE-640 features Roland’s VersaWorks RIP; the Roland color library; variable-data printing; automated maintenance; and a remote-monitoring system.
