Roland Specialty Printer

Roland DGA Corp. (Irvine, CA) is releasing its VersaUV LEF-12 printers that image directly onto numerous substrates as well as 3-D objects — signs, pens, smart phone covers, awards, giftware, promotional items and laptop covers. Like Roland’s larger, LEF-20 UV (20 x 13 in.) flatbed printer, the LEF-12 — with a 12 x 11-in. print area —prints on objects up to 3.94 in. thick. Both models ship with Roland’s advanced, CMYK, white and clear ECO-UV® inks that conform to complex corners and curves. You can layer the clear ink into gloss or matte finishes for unique embossing and varnishing effects; or you may print white as a spot color, or a flood behind CMYK, the latter to enhance colors printed on clear or dark backgrounds.
