Route 66 Sign DVD

The New Mexico Route 66 Assn. is offering a 27-minute film, Route 66: The Neon Road in New Mexico,” on DVD. Produced by PBS affiliate KNME-TV of Albuquerque, the film chronicles the restoration of 10 classic neon signs along New Mexico’s stretch of the historic route. The restoration project (see ST, November 2003, page 86) was led by the association with funding from the National Park Service’s Route 66 Corridor Preservation Office through the New Mexico Historic Preservation Div.

The documentary focuses on six community landmarks in the state and features the business owners and artisans that restored them.
