Signmaker Azriel “Woody” Gomez Dies at 25

Azriel Gomez of Signs by Van (Salinas, CA) died in a motorcycle accident at the age of 25.

Known to most as “Woody,” a nickname given to him by his father, he started at the company seven years ago. While working alongside his mom, he developed a passion for signmaking and moved his way up from shop hand to lead fabricator and installer.

Woody had a jovial personality and was distinguished by his infectious smile and “Keanu Reaves hair.” He was known for his adventure streak, which included snowboarding, fishing, mountain biking, dirt bike riding and cruising on his beloved Ducati.

He also loved spending time with his family. Their favorite pastimes together were game nights, family dinners at Granny Donna’s, going to new restaurants with his dad, and trips to Lake Nacimiento, Tahoe, Grants Pass and Oregon.

Woody is survived by his parents Jesse Gomez, Amber Ingraham and Jon Ingraham, as well as sister Riley Ingraham and brother Braden Ingraham. He was preceded in death by his uncle Samuel Valverde III, great grandfather Joe Merrill Williams, great grandmother Dorothy Williams, great grandmother Mayme Rolf and great grandmother Lorraine Jessee.
