Signs of the Times’ Parent Company Bags 10 Honors at 2022 TABPI Awards

SmartWork Media (Montclair, NJ), parent company of Signs of the Times and other trade publications, recently announced that the company took home 10 honors in the recently announced TABPI Awards, including a gold award for sister publication VMSD magazine in the competition’s premiere category — Best Single Issue — according to a press release from SmartWork Media.

Organized by Cleveland, OH-based Trade Association Business Publications International (TABPI), The Tabbie Awards recognize excellence in trade, association and business publications. The editorial and design competition takes place each year.

Including VMSD’s first-place win, a record total of five SmartWork Media publications placed in the Top 25 for Best Single Issue — with INVISION coming in fourth place (February 2021 issue), Signs of the Times sixth (September 2021 issue), INSTORE 11th (June 2021) and PETS+ 22nd (July-August 2021).

“It’s extremely gratifying that so many of our publications ranked amongst the elite in this highly competitive category,” SmartWork Media Publisher and CEO, Matthijs Braakman is quoted in the press release. “It’s a powerful statement of how hard we work to create high-impact, consumer-quality print products for all of our audiences.”

Other top award winners included the Signs of the Times staff for “40 Awesome Things About Being a Sign Pro” in the July 2021 issue.

With 10 awards so far in 2022, SmartWork Media has now earned a total of 167 awards for print and digital media — giving the group one of the highest ratios of awards per title in all of B2B publishing — also per the release.

“Our editorial teams continue to do amazing work in every market we cover,” says David Squires, group editorial director. “Our mission is to create business publications that don’t feel like work to read, that readers are actually excited to see arrive in their mailboxes. We appreciate the TABPI judges recognizing all the hard work our teams put into making that magic happen.”
