Centering skeletal figures within quasi-apocalyptic, black-and-white landscapes is hardly a new idea. However, most feature subjects lifelike enough to have been lifted from a Gray’s Anatomy textbook. Therefore, a slightly stylized rendition of carcasses seemingly clawing through a truck’s surface probably grabs more attention than hyper-realistic depictions.

SkinzWraps fabricated this wrap for Lee Autry, this Dodge Ram pickup’s owner and one of the shop’s installers. He said, “I was inspired to create a wrap concept based on the music and album art of the rock band Avenged Sevenfold. The image of the three angels saving a demon represents an important part of my life. Not a day goes by that someone doesn’t comment.”

Peter Salaverry, SkinzWraps’ owner, commented, “All of our employees are entitled to a new wrap each year on their vehicles, although they usually wait for every two or three years because they’re so powerful and durable. It’s the best possible advertisement for our work.”

Autry entrusted SkinzWraps designer Mark Cornwell to render the sharp-fanged creatures. Cornwell generated his ideas by hand, then refined and digitized his initial renderings with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

SkinzWraps produced the wrap with Avery’s MPI 1005 EZ opaque, glossy, white, 2.1-mil-thick, vehicle-wrap film. Salaverry said, “We work with mega-sized panels; our installers have the skills to work with them and minimize seams.”

SkinzWraps printed the job on its eight-color, Epson GS 6000 printer with DuraChrome® eight-color, eco-solvent inks. Avery’s MPI 1005 glossy-finish MPI 1005 LTR EZ RS overlaminate preserves Cornwell’s ghastly graphics.

Autry and fellow SkinzWraps installers Boris Kolev, Brad Knorpp, Jose Rodriguez and Rene Orta installed the wrap.
