FIRST PLACE
Although I thoroughly enjoyed Mel Brooks’ 1974 comedy, Young Frankenstein, Secoli’s depictions of Frankenstein‘s monster and his bride seem far more accurate to Mary Shelley's characters than do Peter Boyle and Madeline Kahn’s portrayals. Using Badger Rage siphon-feed, dual-action airbrushes, Secoli applied PPG’s candy green and metallic, silver-flake coatings to a 2006 Suzuki GSHR 1000 motorcycle, and protected the graphics with PPG clearcoat.
SECOND PLACE
Wright’s design, which he developed using Adobe® Photoshop®, conveys a nice juxtaposition of “fire and ice” – front-panel flames match the warm-amber glow of fine Tennessee sippin’ whiskey, and the ice cubes’ iridescent glow represents the sensation of a cold cocktail flowing down the gullet. The shop decorated two Harley Davidsons, a Street Glide and a Fatboy, with RM’s Diamont basecoat and clearcoats, which Wright and his team applied with Iwata LPH 400 production spray gun and HP-BE1 airbrush.
THIRD PLACE
For an old-fashioned emporium that sells antiques, chocolates, dolls and old-time photography, only a handlettered, vintage delivery truck will do. Cahill decorated this 1927 Ford C Cab with 1Shot® (Gary, IN) lettering enamels that he applied with Andrew Mack Brush Co. (Jonesville, MI) handlettering brushes.
