Subterranean Baseball Blasts

Riders of the shuttle running from Times Square to Grand Central were treated to video of the MLB playoffs as part of an alternative-media campaign by TBS, which is airing the Division Series and American League Championship Series.
Four, 10-in. videoscreens mounted in each of the four cars of the Times Square/Grand Central shuttle play a loop that’s updated daily with information about that day’s matchups, plus clips from the previous night’s action.
For example, shuttle passengers caught highlights of Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay’s no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds, only the second no-hitter in MLB postseason history.
The loop runs only a minute or so.
The video is part of a larger TBS shuttle campaign. In previous weeks, TBS wrapped those same cars, inside and out, with images of popular MLB players taking part in this year’s postseason.
On the outside of one car, for example, is a picture of New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada. TBS and MLB logos adorn the outside of the cars as well, while inside additional players-in-action photographs are splashed on the walls.
The TBS campaign aims to connect commuters on their way home with updated game schedules.
