Having gained fame in Europe as a playmaker for an Italian football league, Zinedine Zidane attracted worlwide attention in the 1998 World Cup final with two, headed goals against Brazil to win France's only FIFA World Cup title to date. He again made national headlines at the 2006 World Cup final, where, in the 110th minute, Zidane headbutted Italian football star Marco Materazzi squarely in the chest. Reports later revealed that Materazzi's repeated insults — apprently an arsenal of "your momma" jokes — caused Zidane to react. The incident hasn't devasted the player's career.
