2011 SGS Buyers Panel Announced

ST Media Group Intl., the parent company of Signs of the Times, is announcing that executives from SuperValu, Bealls and Clear Channel outdoor will serve as the 2011 Signage and Graphics Summit (SGS) Buyers’ Panel.

Now in its fifth year, SGS exclusively brings together top-tier executives from the high-volume sign, digital-printing and screenprinting industries for a high-level idea exchange. Discussion topics include industry challenges, best business practices and growth opportunities. This year’s SGS takes place January 26-28 at the Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa, FL.

This year’s panelists will include Harry Steen, SuperValu’s creative-design manager; Karen Filips, ad-production director for Bealls, a Tampa-based, department-store chain; and, Charlie Turner, executive VP of operations for Clear Channel Outdoor. The Buyers’ Panel, which provides an open discussion between attendees and high-volume, signage and graphics buyers, is one of the most popular sessions at SGS.

“We’re excited this year, as we are every year, about the caliber of panelists,” Steve Duccilli, publisher of ST Media’s Screen Printing and The Big Picture magazines, said. “The Buyers’ Panel is one-of-a-kind because it gives signage and graphics producers a chance to learn what issues are really driving the decisions that key accounts are making. The panel features top buyers from several distinct market segments. You’ll find out how the signage and graphics programs for these buyers are changing, what critical factors drive their procurement processes, and ways they’d like their vendors to improve. It covers a lot of ground and gives the attendees perspective that might take months of sales calls to glean.”

In addition to the Buyers’ Panel, SGS offers a variety of other educational seminars featuring speakers and thought-provoking roundtable discussions. There are many networking and social events, too, including the highly anticipated SGS golf tournament. This year, the tournament will take place at one of two Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses at the Saddlebrook Resort.

Attendees can register for SGS online and view continual updates on the events website, www.signageandgraphics.com.
