WHAT’S BETTER THAN a great vehicle wrap? A great vehicle wrap on a cool car!

I’ll be honest: Some cars are already pretty cool on their own. But an awesome wrap ratchets up the style and makes you look, then look again.

Here we bring you five super-cool car wraps, both printed and color-change.

Company: Media 1 Wrap This (Sanford, FL) | Contact: Rick Ream | CLIENT: Clint Wise (for Central Florida Hero Car charity)

Left to right: Dale Salamacha, president of Media 1 Wrap this, with Clint Wise and John Kalish.

CAR MAKE AND MODEL: 2021 Audi R8 Spyder

VINYL: 3M Wrap Film Series 2080. Base is 2080-M12 Matte Black. Cut-vinyl overlays in 2080-G31 Gloss Storm Gray and 2080-G13 Gloss Hot Rod Red. Sponsor logos are cut from 2080-G10 Gloss White.

MAIN CHALLENGES: “The most challenging aspect of this wrap, for me, was creating graphics that would fit the car precisely,” Ream says. “In the end we had to use both cut graphics and 3M Knifeless Tape in combination to get the graphics to land in the perfect positions.”

WHAT MAKES THIS WRAP COOL: You need to ask?

Company: Surf City Graphics (Huntington Beach, CA) | Contact: Mike Dmytrow | CLIENT: Rezvani Motors (Irvine, CA)

CAR MAKE AND MODEL: Rezvani Martini (Retro RR1)

VINYL AND OVERLAMINATE: 3M Print Wrap Film IJ280 and 3M Scotchcal Gloss Overlaminate 8518 for graphics. 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film Pro Series for PPF.

PRINTER: HP Latex 630

MAIN CHALLENGES: “Achieving a flawless install of 3M PPF across the Rezvani’s extreme geometry. With its sharp angles, deep channels and aggressive curves, the body demanded advanced stretching and precise heat management to ensure the film conformed seamlessly without distortion,” Dmytrow says. “Unlike standard wrap vinyl, PPF is thicker and less forgiving, which makes installation on supercar-level panels a true test of skill.” Surf City combined protection and design by layering 3M IJ280 with the retro-Martini livery over the PPF. “By sequencing the installation this way, we not only locked in the high-gloss clarity of the PPF but also showcased the unrivaled repositionability and conformability of 3M IJ280 for graphics,” Dmytrow adds.

WHAT MAKES THIS WRAP COOL: “This project stands out because it’s not just a wrap; it’s a fusion of modern protection technology and retro-motorsport style,” Dmytrow says. “The Rezvani RR1 already turns heads with its wild supercar design, but wrapping it in PPF and layering retro Martini graphics elevated the build into something truly unique.”

Company: Digital EFX Wraps (Louisville, KY) | Contact: Matt Richart | CLIENT: Roland DGA Corp. (for wrap demo at 2025 ISA Expo)

CAR MAKE AND MODEL: Volkswagen ID. Buzz

VINYL AND OVERLAMINATE: Avery Dennison 1105 EZ RS (also General Formulations and 3M depending on the demo and message).

PRINTER AND LAMINATOR: Roland DG TrueVIS VG3 Series wide-format eco-solvent printer/cutters, KALA laminator.

MAIN CHALLENGES: “During our demonstrations we emphasize the vehicle prep and detailing prior to installation,” Richart says. “We always say you can be the best wrapper, have the best facility and have the best printers, but if you aren’t prepping and detailing the vehicle properly, everything I just mentioned doesn’t matter. We also emphasize how important the design and color are to show the power of the printers we use. The other point we discuss is the finishing — trimming, rounding of corners, and how you do quality control during and after the wrap installation.”

WHAT MAKES THIS WRAP COOL: “I think what makes these cars cool for demonstrations is it shows how clean, crisp and vibrant your designs can be,” Richart says. “It also allows customers or show attendees to get up close to the vehicle to inspect the resolution of the design, how the edges were installed, and to see first-hand the end result that should be installed with precision. The other reason these cars are cool is that most demonstrations are explaining what they are doing, why they are doing it and what can happen if you install the wrap the incorrect way.” He also discusses what each wrap would cost to design, print and install to give attendees an idea of what type of revenue and margins are in vehicle wraps. “It’s not just how good your corners are anymore,” Richart adds.

Company: New Layer Customs (Troy, MI) | Contact: Sergey Yakobchak | CLIENT: Local businesswoman (Birmingham, MI)

CAR MAKE AND MODEL: 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Convertible

VINYL: Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film Frosty Blue Metallic

MAIN CHALLENGES: “The car being white to begin with is no doubt more time-consuming, but mirrors were definitely the most complicated part,” Yakobchak says. “Supreme Wrapping Film is our go-to. It’s always the first book we show clients. And everybody knows it’s the easiest and most user-friendly to install.”

WHAT MAKES THIS WRAP COOL: “There is nothing specifically unique about the car but it is a fairly rare color,” Yakobchak says.

Company: Apogee Signs (Midway, FL) | Contact: Brent Yawn | CLIENT: Sheriff’s Department (Madison County, FL)

CAR MAKE AND MODEL: Dodge Charger Pursuit (police specifications)

VINYL AND OVERLAMINATE: 3M Envision Print Wrap Film SV480mC, 3M Scotchcal Gloss Overlaminate 8518.

PRINTER: Roland VG-640 eco-solvent printer/cutter

MAIN CHALLENGES: “Coming up with a design or concept that looks nothing like what has been done in the past,” Yawn says. “There are so many Autism Awareness wraps that look similar and don’t deviate from the boundaries of the car itself. I would say, ‘Don’t be afraid to break the confines of what has been done. Be bold, be colorful, but most of all, be recognizable.’ Legibility is usually lost on colorful and busy vehicle wraps,” he adds.

WHAT MAKES THIS WRAP COOL: “This vehicle wrap is cool because it’s bold, colorful and conveys the message of Autism Awareness that Madison County Sheriff David Harper requested,” Yawn says. “Coming from a car guy, it’s cool because it’s a ‘Charger Pursuit Last Call’ with graphics that set it apart from the normal patrol cars, which also gets used in local promotions and events.”
