A Window on a Twister

Inwindow Outdoor (NYC), an originator of interactive storefront and mall advertising, has launched the “Urban Tornado” at two of its NYC storescape locations to promote the Discovery Channel series Storm Chasers.
Pedestrians who approach the storefront screen see the image and sounds of the approaching tornado coming up the street just behind them. At one location, high-powered fans blow gale-force winds on passersby to enhance the experience. As the on-screen tornado approaches, virtual debris flies through the air, even sending a stop sign crashing through the storefront window. Once complete, the pedestrian can opt to receive a photograph of themselves, via SMS, and can upload that image to personal Facebook pages and the Storm Chasers Facebook fan page.
The Urban Tornado can be experienced through November 9 at 750 7th Ave. and 901 Broadway.
