AccuBraille (San Francisco) is introducing its ADA-compliant, thermoformed signage. Its panels integrated tactile graphics text with domed Braille, and reportedly provide the only ADA-compliant substrate suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
The company’s offerings include AccuBraille Standard, an extruded-acrylic panel that can be finished with paint on the first or second surface, or a digitally printed and laminated second surface, with screenprinted or foil-stamped text; AccuBraille Infused, a durable, solid-colored material designed for schools, hospitals and other high-traffic environments; AccuBraille Metallics, a 100%-post-consumer-recycled substrate that’s painted with a low-VOC formula that replicates cast bronze, copper, pewter or iron; and AccuBraille Elements, which encapsulates a variety of materials between acrylic sheets.
According to the company, the thermoforming process generates 25-40% less waste than photopolymer-sign fabrication.
