Avery Dennison’s Graphics and Reflective-Products Division (Painesville, OH) is unveiling its highly conformable, gloss laminate DOL 1460, which is conformable over dimensional graphics and extreme curves and corrugations, the company reports. The 1.3-mil, cast, glossy-finish material is recommended for vehicle wraps, fleet and bus graphics, and outdoor, architectural applications. Product attributes include a permanent adhesive, an improved release coating, no primer being necessary for installation, and an easy-to-handle base liner that reduces mottling of the film’s facestock. Designed for use with the company’s MPI 1005 Supercast films, the topcoat provides four-year durability. For 3-D applications with MPI 1005 films, Avery offers a warranty for MPI 1005 Supercast applications with a flat liner and Easy Apply and Easy Apply RS air-release technology.
The company is also announcing that five of its HV 1200 high-visibility, reflective-films now offers Easy Apply RS™ air-release technology, which reduces installation time. Choices include white, red, blue, black and yellow. According to the company, the films are primarily used for emergency-vehicle markings, and can boost vehicle wraps’ nighttime visibility. Additional key features include consistent reflectivity from various angles, easy cutting and weeding, excellent printability with UV-cure and solvent-based, screenprinting inks, and up to seven-year durability (depending on the installation), The enclosed-lens, retro-reflective films meet ASTM D-4956 Type 1 reflectivity standards.
