Canon U.S.A. Hosts Virtual Training for Ronald McDonald Camp

Canon U.S.A. (Melville, NY) has announced that, for the third year in a row, Canon U.S.A. staff lent their time and equipment to train and educate attendees of the Ronald McDonald Camp. The virtual Ronald McDonald Camp took place Aug. 17-21 via web conferencing. The Ronald McDonald Camp is a part of the Philadelphia region of the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope.

According to a press release from the company, led by Canon Account Manager Lisa Alford and Pro Market Specialist Tony Kurdzuk, campers had access to Canon EOS Rebel DSLR kits, and the virtual sessions were split into two groups, advanced and beginner. The closing session of the training included a “critique” activity in which campers were able to showcase and discuss their work, including their favorite photo.

“I’ve learned so many photography skills over the three years I have participated in the Canon training workshops at the Ronald McDonald Camp,” said camper Halle Middleton. “My interest in photography grows each year. The workshops have given me the confidence I needed to go out and continue my photography hobby on my own.”

Alford also created an educational landing page to help campers take their photography education beyond the camp sessions. In 2021, hopefully in person, Alford and Canon will continue to provide photography education opportunities for the attendees of the Ronald McDonald Camp.
