Clear Channel Outdoor Installs First Boston-area Digital Billboards

Clear Channel Outdoor has installed the first digital billboard in the Greater Boston area. The double-sided board is located on I-93 in Stoneham, MA, south of the Route 128 loop, where more than 117,000 vehicles pass daily. Clear Channel was awarded digital billboard permits as a part of a statewide pilot program.
Stephen Ross, president of Clear Channel Outdoor Boston division, said installing digital billboards is “a win-win situation. Advertisers can now reach the public with multiple topical messages daily, while saving money and time on production. The message can be altered or updated several times each day to better target a specific audience. The value is unparalleled.”
Through a partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Clear Channel also plans to display State Police Amber Alerts. It will also display public-service messages from charitable organizations it has worked with in the past.
