Colex Digital Flatbed Cutter

Colex (Paramus NJ) introduces its Sharpcut flatbed-cutter system to serve markets that require mechanized knife cutting, creasing and routing operations. The flatbed cutter, via its fixed- and oscillating-knife system, and spindle-type router, is suitable for various applications. A precision, rack-and-pinion gear system provide the gantry’s X-Y movement. The Z-axis drive’s ball-screw mechanism is powered by a 0.5 hp, Panasonic-brand servo (220V, 40A, single phase) motor that provides, Colex says, clean-cut, smooth edge quality. Additionally, Sharpcut’s triple, interchangeable, tool-head station and tool kit, and engineered, flatbed-cutting table, eases your workload when processing either sheet or rigid (up to 2-in. thick) materials.
The 5 x 10-ft.-model table surface comprises six zones, each features an individually controlled vacuum pump. Further, Sharpcut tables’ camera/feedback system continuously and automatically adjusts your cut track, to ensure a match to the original diagram. The company says it’s a reliable, high performance system; a 14 X 18-ft-model is also available.
