Daktronics (Brookings, SD) has announced that Kauffman Stadium, home of Major League Baseball’s Kansas City Royals, will feature HDR capability and a 138% increase in pixels from a new LED video installation in 2021.
A new Hall of Fame display in left field and two updated fence displays will also be installed early next year for a total of 10,624 sq. ft. of HDR-capable displays, per a statement. The Hall of Fame display in left field is 108 x 20.5 ft.
Per Daktronics, the upgraded technology will fit into the existing CrownVision center field display, bringing more than 3.5 million pixels to the main view feature. The upgraded fence displays feature 700,000-plus pixels, and the new Hall of Fame display brings nearly 900,000 pixels to the outfield. All displays will feature 15-mm pixel spacings using SMD LED technology.
