FINANCES November is the race to get things wrapped up before the holidays and any last minute billing that might get paid by EOY, according to Keith Davis, KRD Design (Chester Springs, PA). Just a few clicks to the east, “Work in a bonus program for production staff,” advises Jeffrey Chudoff, Fastsigns of Maple Shade (Maple Shade, NJ). “Sales teams can’t hit sales goals without production.”

NOV. 9-15

OUTREACH Madison Wicks, Skyline Sign (Conway, SC), will be preparing for the busy holidays and businesses that need last-minute signage for Black Friday sales. “We also plan our float for Conway’s Christmas parade!” she shares excitedly. “It’s been a great way to get our name out to other local businesses.”

INVESTMENT Equipment purchase is on the docket for Bruce Fish, Signal Sign Co. (Livingston, NJ). Remember, making the purchase before year end will lower your 2025 tax burden.

ANALYSIS “Metrics, they’re no joke,” says Adam Brown, Sign Effectz (Milwaukee). “Get KPI’s set for 3-5 reportable items and focus on them regularly,” he counsels. Meanwhile, one state to the west, business development is the current focus for Rick Ferraro, Spectrum Sign Systems (Blaine, MN). “Dedicating 3-4 hrs./week to specific market segments, we have a much larger plan but breaking this down into smaller increments allows us to make progress in lieu of waiting for the perfect time, which never seems to come.”

EMPLOYEES “Our office throws a ‘Worksgiving’ party the Tuesday before Thanksgiving,” says Torey Rouillon, National Branding (Troy, MI). Everyone is buzzing all month long about what they are bringing and who is going to win the award for the best dish, she adds.

CLIENTS Do you live in a city that has a restaurant where it’s almost impossible to get a reservation? Impress your best customer by booking a table. You can if you do it far enough in advance. Then give the reservation to your top client.
