Global Garage Gets Its Own Website

Global Garage (Louisville, CO), a full-service brokerage company that helps companies sell, find and buy quality, used, commercial-printer equipment, has established its own URL, www.globalgarage.net. When Global Garage debuted in early 2009, it operated as a section of parent company Global Imaging’s website, www.globalimaginginc.com, but soon became the most visited portion. Now, Global Garage lists more than $2.5 million in equipment for sale.
Buyers can browse thumbnails and sort by manufacturer or technology type, then find individual product listings that provide year manufactured, serial number, location, condition and service history. Photos usually include various angles of the equipment, printhead tests and sample images. Videos enable buyers to see the equipment in action. Sellers use a simple website form to provide the necessary equipment details and upload photos, videos and brochures.
Mike Altreuter, Global Garage’s president, contacts every seller to ensure listing details and inclusions are accurate and optimized. He also assists buyers to find their optimal match.
Altreurer said, “In the superwide-format print business, money is made with technology. Speed from start to finish, efficient workflow and unique offerings are the name of the game. Keeping up with technology has many barriers, and, if we can help businesses move their old equipment to get into something they have a demand for, and sell that same piece of equipment to another business who can make a profit with it, everyone wins. Because the entry costs are so much lower, the ROI on this equipment can be staggering.”
