Integrated Color Solutions (ICS), NYC, a leader in monitor-proofing systems, has announced the promotion of Dan Caldwell to president. Caldwell, a graphics-industry veteran, joined the company in 2001 to help guide ICS technology to market. He was appointed VP of operations in 2003. In his new role, Caldwell will oversee sales and marketing as well as the daily operation of the company.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in the prepress and graphics industry. His experience with color reproduction ranges from camera separations to the desktop, including the original drum scanners in the 1970s. After six years as a pre-press manager in the Los Angeles division of RR Donnelley, he co-founded one of the fastest growing color trade shops in Southern California in the mid-1980s. When the desktop revolution swept the industry, Dan used his industry experience to design and market software for color control in graphic reproduction.
Previously, Caldwell was co-founder of Color Solutions, the company best known for its ColorBlind product line, where he served as its VP. He led the team at Color Solutions that pioneered, designed and marketed much of the color-management technology and RGB document workflows now used by the graphic-arts industry.
