Mark Dailey, who served Ikonics Corp.’s (Duluth, MN) screenprinting products division as technical sales representative for 16 years, passed away June 21. Dailey anchored the division’s sales group in the adoption of new technology, distribution management and technical sales. Mike Skrbich, Chromaline’s North American sales manager, said, “Mark was unique in terms of his passion, intellect, experience and relationship-building abilities. His legacy will be lived out in the numerous relationships he fostered, nurtured and kept throughout the industry. He was a class act, a friend, mentor and always the voice of reason. Mark selflessly thought of those around him and always had regard for all.”
In 1993, Dailey started at Ikonics, when it was known as the Chromaline Corp., after having owned his own screenprinting business, the Dailey Press, in Superior, WI. During his tenure with the company, he specialized in tracking and mastering quickly changing technologies.
In his honor, Ikonics has established the Mark Dailey Memorial Scholarship at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where Dailey studied graphic-design management. The scholarship will be offered to UW-Stout juniors and seniors in the graphic-arts management major with demonstrated passion for and persistence in pursuing the graphic arts, particularly screenprinting.
