FIRST PLACE
These crisp, lifelike renderings of auto detailers hard at work surely caused motorists to pause and visualize their cars being meticulously cleaned. Ferrari's creative team developed the graphics using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS and prepped the van’s surface with 3M’s 94 primer to promote bonding-tape adhesion. The shop output 3M IJ180C-10 Controltac Plus embossed-adhesive film on its EFI-Vutek 3360 printer and protected the wrap with 3M's 8519 luster-finish overlaminate.
SECOND PLACE
A little nepotism never hurt a signshop – Greer and his staff fabricated this one for his father’s specialty tinceiling business. Abracadabra router-cut ¾-in.-thick PVC and sprayed the panel with automotive-grade, black paint. Abracadabra coated the panel with fast size and decorated the panel with aluminum leaf. The letters comprise 1-in.-thick, 18-lb. Sign•Foam® (Dana Point, CA)
HDU that was router-cut, beveled and painted with Rhino (Bloomington, IN) waterbased paint. To install the sign panel on the vintage truck, they drove six, 3-in., stainless-steel screws into the truck's existing rail box.
THIRD PLACE
If “Atomic Bug” wasn’t a B-side to George Clinton’s legendary dance-floor filler, “Atomic Dog,” it should have been (“buzz buzz buzz yippee yo yippee yay” would be a catchy chorus). Bluemedia developed the custom graphics using Adobe’s Photoshop® and Illustrator®, and output the system on its Mimaki JV-3 solvent-ink printer using 3M™’s Controltac film with Comply® embossed adhesive. The shop protected this honey of a graphic with 3M’s 8519 luster-finish overlaminate.
