More than 80 exhibitors are expected at LEDs 2008, which will be held September 29 to October 1, 2008 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.

This ninth annual meeting will bring together manufacturers, materials and component suppliers, technology innovators, investors and end users to discuss all the market and technological developments. For the first time, LEDs 2008 will feature audience-selected Best in Show Awards and the Exhibitor Forum, which will be available to all exhibitors. The commercially focused Exhibitor Forum will be open September 30 and October 1. Be sure to attend for product announcements and live demos. There will also be Q&A sessions, where industry suppliers will discuss latest technology developments. American Bright, NuSil Technology and Shin-Etsu are just some of the companies that will be represented.

Osram will host an evening reception on September 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m, with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the exhibit hall.

George Craford (CTO of Philips Lumileds), John Hammond (CTO of Cree) and Christian Fricke (VP of Research and Development at Osram Opto Semiconductor) will lead presentations on recent technology breakthroughs, including chip performance and phosphors and how they impact LED lifetime and performance.

More than 500 expected attendees can expect to learn about what can be expected in the industry in the next two to five years, technology breakthroughs, new applications and more. Participants are expected to include:

-Display manufacturers

Session topics will include solar powered outdoor area LED lighting, opportunities for SSL luminaire design, high color rendering technology, and much more.

LED Measurements and Standards will be held October 2 to 3. This conference will feature networking opportunities and two days of presentations from the lighting, SSL and LED industries as well as from LED testing engineers and regulations and standards specialists.
