Eric Henn, a self-employed, Franklin, OH-based muralist, has built a big reputation. Fuel and water tanks, ponderous walls, super-sized globes and other gargantuan spaces serve as his tableau. Earlier this year, Marathon Petroleum (Findlay, OH) hired Henn to bedeck an 11,000-sq.-ft., jet-fuel tank at its Tampa facility. After allowing the marine-grade basecoat to cure for 30 days, he applied Sherwin-Williams’ crushed-pigment, direct-to-metal paint and anti-graffiti Dimaond-Clad clearcoat.

This slideshow features 12 snapshots of Henn's progression from gray to greatness.
