Mimaki USA (Suwanee, GA) is introducing its 53.5-in.-wide JV400-130LX and 63.3-in.-wide, JV400-160LX latex-inkjet printers that apply Mimaki’s ecologically friendly LX101 latex inks (CMYK, orange, green plus white) for an increased color gamut. An optional, 3-layer print process (color, white, color) is available. According to Mimaki, the LX101 inks produce vivid, glossy, high quality, color-dense images. It also says the 6-color print process will achieve 93% of the Pantone color chart. The JV400LX series images up to 193 sq. ft./hr. and offers fast drying times, low ink-curing temperatures (with more media choices) and outdoor print durability.
The company is also announcing its JV400-130SUV and JV400-160SUV solvent UV inkjet printers that image with solvent and UV-cure ink. During the CMYK print process, Mimaki says, the solvent compound is absorbed into the media’s ink-receiving layer and the pigment settles on to the media. The printed ink is then UV-cured to create a smooth, high-gloss finish that simulates coating. The weatherproof, scratch-resistant prints maintain the bright colors of a solvent print and release dry and ready for post processing.
The JV400SUV printers image at speeds of up to 193 sq. ft./hr. and ship with RasterLink6 RIP software that can convert special colors to Pantone colors. You can measure a target color with an optional colorimeter and utilize the integrated Color Picker System to reproduce desired target colors.
