NEC Large-Format Display

NEC Display Solutions of America (Itasca, IL), a standalone provider of commercial LCD displays and projectors, has announced the 46-in. MultiSync® X461HB professional display, with a 1,500cd/m² brightness measurement and a 3,500:1 contrast ratio that stands out in such heavily lit environments as corporate lobbies, atriums and restaurants.

The display’s ambient-light sensor technology automatically adjusts the backlight depending on the ambient-lighting brightness and maximizes the power-management feature. An extra thermal layer on the display panel diffuses heat and follows with a fan-based technology specifically designed to work in landscape and portrait modes to provide advanced thermal protection. Internal temperature sensors control self-protective circuits, and self-diagnostics communicate thermal characteristics’ status. The thermal protection can be monitored and controlled locally and remotely.

The MultiSync X461HB accommodates components such as the MPD-SBC-8/16-2 single-board computer, SB-L008WU DVI daisy-chain module or SB-L007KK HD-SDI card by fully integrating it into the unit’s expansion slot. This eliminates the need for external distribution equipment and power supply.

The display is backed by a three-year, parts-and-labor warranty, including the backlight, and will be available for July 2009 shipment.
