Opto Tech Corp. of Taiwan provided the façade for the recently opened MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Macau. The company describes the screen as the world's first true outdoor, 16mm, SMD LED display.
The centerpiece of the display is a 1,408 x 768 pixel, 180°, curved, 16mm, SMD video screen, flanked by smaller, 16mm, SMD LED display panels and vertical LED tubes.
The display, which is used for promotional videos and event previews, can display full-resolution, H-D video. Also, the display provides a 180° viewing angle, high brightness and contrast ratio during daylight, and image quality.
The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino Macau opened for business in December 2007.
