Plaskolite Acquires MXL Industries

Plaskolite (Columbus, OH), a manufacturer of engineering thermoplastics, has acquired MXL Industries (Lancaster, PA), a manufacturer of optical plastic products.

In a release, Plaskolite said the deal strengthens its existing coatings business that serves various industries, complements existing polycarbonate production and expands its product offering to include optical thermoplastic solutions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

MXL manufactures and coats optical engineering thermoplastic parts for military, motorsport, life safety, medical, aviation and marine applications. The company also offers mold design and construction, injection molding, coating, routing and assembly.

Plaskolite, headed by CEO Ryan Schroeder, is owned by Pritzker Private Capital along with the Dunn family, management and other co-investors.
