EFI Releases Nozomi 18000+ LED Single-Pass Printer

Electronics for Imaging (EFI; Fremont, CA) has announced the new EFI Nozomi 18000+ LED single-pass printer for point of sale and display graphics producers. “The 71-in.-wide printer, running three to five times faster than all other scanning head printers, is the first single-pass, ultra-high-speed digital printer designed and built for the sign and display graphics market,” according to a statement from the company.

EFI announced that the printer is now commercially available worldwide during the recent FESPA Global Print Expo in Berlin. “For businesses with high-volume demand, [the Nozomi 18000+] represents an important opportunity to grow profitability, capitalizing on the printer’s ability to deliver the lowest cost per square foot and a lower overall total cost of ownership,” also per the statement from EFI.

The LED single-pass machine prints on synthetic and paper-based media at speeds up to 1,000 sheets or boards per hour. Other features include hybrid aqueous/UV primer, optional pre-white for reflective and colored surfaces, and optional post-UV coater.
