Roland Expands Manufacturing with Bangkok, Thailand Facility

Roland DG Corp. (Hamamatsu, Japan), parent company of Roland DGA Corp. (Irvine, CA), has opened a new manufacturing facility in Bangkok, Thailand, specifically for digital-printing equipment. The company’s first manufacturing plant outside of Japan, the new production center is expected to greatly strengthen the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
Roland will benefit from better procurement capabilities, lower operating costs, and increased pricing competitiveness. The company will also reduce its exposure to natural events that can occur regionally without warning, such as the 2011 earthquake and tsunami that impacted so many Japanese companies and their local supply chains.
