Roland DGA (Irvine, CA) is releasing its 64-in.-wide, VersaUV LEJ-640 hybrid printer that images 1,440 dpi, UV-cure CMYK, white and clear inks on flexible media and up to ½-in.-thick rigid substrates — Fome-Cor® and Gatorfaom®, foamboard,, corrugated cardboard or polycarbonate, for example. The LED lamps allow low-heat imaging on such media as shrink-wrap and paper. Roland offers four ECO-UV. Ink-configuration choices at set-up: CMYK, white, clear; CMYK, white, white; or CMYK, clear, clear — and, its ECO-UV S ink, which is available in CMYK, white, white and more suited for curved-surface applications. Front and rear folding tables support rigid materials up to 4 x 8 ft., and an automated media take-up system facilitates unattended printing. The printer images at 133 sq. ft./hr. and features low-power use and an automatic ink-circulation system. It ships with Roland’s VersaWorks™ RIP software.
