SOL provides significant value for 3D technology enthusiasts. It eliminates three important hurdles to 3D scanning: complex calibration, time-consuming software manipulation, and manual mesh alignment. SOL features near- and far-mode scanning, and supports the following dimensions and maximum weight:

- For far-mode scanning, an object up to 170 mm in diameter and 170 mm tall (6.69 x 6.69 in.).
