The Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) is announcing its 2014 Global Design Awards, the 27th annual installation of the program. Alan Jacobson, founder and president of ex;it, a Philadelphia-based design firm, will serve as chariman for the Awards jury. Other judges include:
- Ceyda Artun, a graduate of the MFA in Graphic Design program at Anadolu University, Turkey, and winner of a 2013 SEGD Global Design Award for her design of the “Fake Art Museum” at the University Arts faculty canteen
- Ken Carbone, co-founder and chief creative director of the award-winning design and branding firm Carbone Smolan Agency (New York)
- Hilary Jay, a design curator, journalist, and entrepreneur who was recently named director of The Philadelphia Center for Architecture
- Zelda Harrison, a branding and communications consultant and former president of AIGA’s Cross Cultural Design program
- Matthew Littell, principal in the Boston-based architectural and planning firm Utile, known for his work in designing affordable, sustainable rental housing projects in major urban centers
- Clifford Selbert, landscape architect and co-founder of the acclaimed multidisciplinary, international design firm Selbert Perkins Design
- Min Wang, dean of the School of Design at China’s most influential design school, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and design director for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Committee
- And, Alina Wheeler, author of Designing Brand Identity: An Essential Guide for the Whole Branding Team, the leading global resource for brand builders
