Signs of the Times magazine has named Christina Green its new managing editor.

In addition to enhancing the magazine’s coverage of the sign and visual communications industries, she will spearhead social media efforts and also coordinate Signs of the Times’ annual contest and award programs.

“I couldn’t be happier that Christina is going to partner with me to take Signs of the Times into 2022 and beyond,” Mark Kissling, editor-in-chief. “I am confident that she will very quickly take ownership of many facets of our brand, such as our social media, our awards and contests and much more, and that she will advance all of them to new levels of interest to our audience.”

Green succeeds Grant Freking, who served nearly five years as an editor for the magazine. She spent the last six and a half years with Boutique Design, a magazine and events brand for hospitality design professionals, as both a senior editor and content specialist.

“I’m so happy to work with Mark in providing the valuable, engaging content and award offerings Signs of the Times is known for,” Green said. “Storytelling is my passion, and I can’t wait to connect with our industry to learn more about the art of signmaking.”

Prior to joining Boutique Design, she served as a marketing director and event sales coordinator at a 48-room inn and event venue in suburban Cincinnati.

Green began her career in journalism as a content editor at an Athens, Ohio-based nonprofit publication focused on social justice and regional activism. She earned bachelor’s degrees in magazine journalism and sociology from Ohio University.

She considers herself a visual explorer and enjoys everything from cinema to art to architecture. She currently resides in Cincinnati’s Norwood enclave.
