There is probably no more recognizable logo in sports than the angular, slightly serifed font worn by the New York Yankees. And, given their 26 World Championships (much to the consternation of ST Publisher/Editor Wade Swormstedt, an avid Boston Red Sox fan), lots of Big Apple entities are only too happy to associate themselves with the Bronx Bombers. The Parking Spot, which operates parking lots near NYC’s John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airports, as well as in Newark, NJ, hired Craftsmen Industries (St. Charles, MO) to produce three shuttle-bus wraps for these Parking Spot lots.
The shop produced the wrap on its VUTEk 2360 solvent-ink printer with 3M Controltac air-release media that’s topcoated with Scotchcal 8519 luster-finish, cast laminate. The window graphcis were printed on 3M Scotchcal 8171 perforated film, and protected with an optically clear laminate. The graphics were laminated with a 54-in.-wide Seal 600 MD laminate, and the wrap was applied with Lidco gray squeegees.
