Watchfire Signs (Danville, IL) offers Ignite OPx, a mobile application for managing EMC-sign content as an extension of its updated Ignite desktop software. Together, these tools provide real-time sign updates that allow sign owners to access their content library and sign diagnostics from virtually anywhere. The browser-based app uses wireless broadband for communicating with a Watchfire EMC sign. The company offers an exclusive data plan through Verizon Wireless that allows customers to purchase 3G data at below-market prices. Through cloud computing, customers can enjoy the convenience of sign-content management using a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer with internet access.
Because Ignite OPx is web-based, there is nothing to install. It works with any modern browser on all major mobile platforms. Using the app, sign operators can replace and rearrange content playlists, update their schedule, and access mobile diagnostics from their handheld device. Changes are saved automatically on their system, so users don’t have to worry about versioning or duplicating work.
