Mo Flint, Dan Sawatzky Win the 2019 Sign Invitational

Mo Flint of Atomic Barn Studios and Dan Sawatzky of Imagination Corp. were voted the victors of the 2019 Sign Invitational, held at Signs of the Times‘ booth at the International Sign Association’s 2019 Sign Expo. The creative competition among signmakers was the fourth annual event, intended to showcase the potential of both the sign artists as well as the equipment and materials they use.

This year’s contest had a theme of “time” and had two categories: maximum size 36 x 36-in. single-sided, wall-to-wall/easel-mounted sign (won by Flint, a first-time Sign Invitational participant); and maximum size 24 x 24 x 72 in (won by Sawtazky). Nearly 1,000 votes cast at Signs of the Times’ booth determined the winners.

Sawatzky and Jim Dawson of Synergy Sign & Graphics, the co-organizers of the Sign Invitational, appeared on Signs Unscripted immediately after the contest to discuss the event and changes coming to the contest next year. To find out about those changes and next year’s theme, click here.
