3M Transparent Cast Film

Window media maybe inkjet or screenprinted, lasts up to seven years, company reports

3M Commercial Graphics (St. Paul, MN) is presenting Scotchcal Clear View 8150 printing film, a transparent, cast, PVC film designed for graphic installation on glass. The media, which may be inkjet or screenprinted, offers easy conformability and 3M’s bonding system for easy application. One-way visibility may be completed with a printed-hole matrix without perforation. Filigree details and color gradients may be easily reproduced on the film, the company reports. 3M states the film offer seven-year durability, and is covered through the company’s Performance Guarantee for up to five years, depending upon lamination, application and environment.

The company offers the material in 164-ft.-long, 48-in.-wide rolls; 32-ft.-long sample rolls are available during product rollout. The material may be printed using solvent-, UV-cure- and latex-ink printer. At presstime, the product is only available in Europe. 3M is planning subsequent introductions to the U.S. and other regions.
