Agfa’s :Anapurna 2500LED, LED-lamped, UV-cure hybrid

Agfa Graphics (Mortsel, Belgium) has introduced LED-lamped, UV-cure technology on its 8.2 ft. wide, :Anapurna 2500LED hybrid (flatbed and roll-fed) inkjet printer. The 2500LED includes Agfa’s latest UPH-2 grayscale print-heads, with 764 nozzles that produce eight picoliter output for a maximum resolution of1,440 -dpi. Agfa said the printer will produce crisp, 4-pt. text, as well as smooth solid colors and photographic detail. It also includes an automated maintenance system.
The low-power, solid-state LEDs require no warm-up time; they also offer a long life when compared with mercury arc UV lamps. The cool-operating, low-energy lamps also provide consistent UV radiation and allow the processing of heat sensitive media.
Agfa said the :Anapurna LED2500 is suitable for signmaking, POP printers and display producers who want consistent, high quality results with lower running costs and greater versatility. Its throughput speeds range up 581 sq. ft/hr. on both rigid and flexible materials. The flatbed surface will accept 4 x 8 ft. rigid media.
