February Follow-Up
-
- Thank you for working to feature Comet Signs and [the Crockett Hotel] project in the February issue! (See ST, February 2023) — Kaelyn Sanders, Comet Signs, San Antonio
- OMG, the job I’m working on now must’ve known I was talking to you about this! (See ST, February 2023) This is pretty unusual to have this many issues in one job, but here is a panel [see photo at below] that was sent to us without being completely transfer-taped. — Todd Tracey, T-Bone Graphics, Pasadena, MD
Need Sales Compensation Advice
- What is the going rate of salesperson pay? Base plus commission? Is commission on the total project or profit? — Paul Havenaar, Sign Impressions, Kalamazoo, MI
Archival Footing
- The American Sign Museum now owns the complete collection of Signs of the Times from the first issue in May, 1906, through 2021, in bound-volume format. We also have a great collection of single issues with many duplicates — probably every issue from the 1940’s on, many 1930’s issues and a smattering from the 1920’s — all collected back when I was editor. Then, we also have a good collection of books. Even better, we will have completed our new library space [soon]. — Tod Swormstedt, American Sign Museum, Cincinnati
(EDITOR’S NOTE: In the march issue, we reported the library as already open, but it is not open quite yet. Please stand by!)
Small and Crafty
- Thank you for more articles and tips for small, 1- or 2-person shops. I enjoy the “art” of signmaking and like seeing other people’s craft. — Jean Shimp, Shimp Sign & Design Inc., Jacksonville, FL
Let’s Try This Again
- I’m [still, since last May at least] looking for a reasonable, easily searchable part numbering system for sign components. — Jasper Burton, Cuerden Sign Co., Conway, AR
Can’t Wait
- Looking forward to the next issue. — Jason Schrodi, Fastsigns Clear Lake, Webster, TX
