Bayer MaterialScience AG (Leverkusen, Germany) signed a technology and patent license agreement with Add-Vision Inc., a Delaware corporation based in Scotts Valley, CA. The agreement grants Bayer MaterialScience and its affiliates certain rights to manufacture and sell flexible polymer organic light-emitting diode (P-OLED) displays using Add-Vision’s technology and intellectual property portfolio. The printable P-OLED lighting technology will be used more extensively in the future in such applications as active packaging and labels, giftcards, electronic toys and games, promotional products or point-of-sale signage. Financial details have not been disclosed.

Dr. Karsten Dierksen, VP and head of the Functional Films Polymer Electronics Unit at Bayer MaterialScience, said, "We are pleased to add this promising technology to our Functional Films portfolio. It’s a great fit as it perfectly complements our electroluminescence (EL) technology."
