What a difference an hour makes. That’s The Sign Police’s (West Palm Beach, FL) installation time for new signage at the entrances to Cascaya, a community in the Ibis Golf & Country Club in West Palm Beach. In just 60 minutes, the signage went from dreary and dated to sleek and sophisticated.
The original sign – polystyrene acrylic letters (note the warping of the capital C!) and crumbling Styrofoam®, was so worn, no one would imagine it marked the entrance to a prestigious community.
Stephen Salzberg, principal for The Sign Police, lives in the Cascaya community and knew change was needed. He proposed a new sign to the development’s president, and, luckily, there was money in the budget.
The sign’s upgrade traded the weather-beaten look for granite-mimicking Alpolic® aluminum composite material. Atlas Sign Industries (West Palm Beach, FL) fabricated the reverse-channel letters from .125 aluminum face with .080 welded aluminum returns. The background Alpolic face was routed to fit with a second Alpolic inlay and then chemically bonded to the aluminum box. Installing it over the existing sign reduced installation time.
The two new signs cost just $9,500.
