To celebrate the launch of its online service, CanvasPop (www.canvaspop.com), which prints photos on canvas, is offering 100 customers the option of displaying their photos on the Reuter’s sign in Times Square. Each of the 100 customers will have their images displayed on the 7,400-sq.-ft. screen for 15 seconds, then receive a time- and date-stamped image that can be shared or archived.
CanvasPop allows people to print photos, including images from Facebook™, Flickr™, Photobucket™ and even iPhones™, from CanvasPop.com, where the pictures are turned into canvas wall art. The large-format, photo-printing company works with any resolution image (which means the lower-resolution images found on social-media sites and those taken with mobile phones. Adrian Salamunovic, co-founder of CanvasPop, said, “Our process and technology makes it easy, you pick the image we take care of the rest.”
Users submit their photo, then choose from various filters and effects from modern pop art, to oil painting, from hand-drawn sketch to vintage photo effects. Then, digital designers are available to work directly with the client and even provide a free digital proof that can be reviewed and approved by the client before it’s printed. The company ships out of Canada, the U.K. and the U.S.
