Daktronics Inc. (Brookings, SD) helped launch 2009 with its prominent video displays in Times Square. Daktronics first made its mark in Times Square when it installed equipment for the Dow Jones zipper display in 1986 and has continued to provide spectacular signage, boasting over 20 major installations, more than any other LED display manufacturer, according to the company.

Daktronics’ 70-ft-tall Anheuser-Busch display sits in the midst of One Times Square, New Year’s Eve most recognizable hotspots.

The company’s pioneering LED technology is showcased with the Coca-Cola display in Times Square. The display has become a landmark fixture inside Times Square with its unmistakable 3-D design and 2.6 million LEDs.

Daktronics celebrated its 40th year of business in 2008. The company began manufacturing LED video displays in 1997. Since then, nearly 5,000 full-color, large-screen LED displays have been sold and installed in commercial and sporting facilities wordwide.
