Genie (Redmond, WA), a Terex brand, is presenting an operator protective structure (OPS) that can be installed on its articulating or telescopic boom lifts. The OPS, which attaches to 6- or 8-ft.-long platforms, serves as a safety device in the event the crane user comes in contact with an overhead obstacle by transferring the energy of the lift’s movement to surrounding structures.
