GE’s Tetra miniMAX LED System

GE Lumination (Cleveland, OH) is announcing the Tetra® miniMAX LED system for shallow-depth, channel-letter applications. Tetra miniMAX is over three times brighter and illuminates a surface area that is four times larger than previous generation Tetra® Mini, according to the company. The compact size enables it to fit into applications as shallow as 1.5 inches (38mm). Also, it delivers 24 lumens/module (6,500° K) and 20 lumens/module (3,200° K) respectively; surface coverage or 42,084 sq. mm (at 3 in. depth); and a 155° viewing angle to enhance uniformity of light throughout the application. The company says fewer LEDs are needed per sign to achieve optimal performance.

The Tetra miniMAX features OptiLens™, a patent-pending optical lens that captures otherwise wasted light and redirects it toward the illuminated surface in a broad, 155° pattern. By harnessing the light, the OptiLens technology helps the Tetra miniMAX LED system efficiently deliver bright, uniform light throughout the sign. The low-voltage, 12VDC LED system reduces complex wiring. The system uses such off-the-shelf components as wire and wire connectors. The continuous wire through LED module uses IDC connectors versus soldering for maximum strain relief.
