Daktronics Inc. (Brooking, SD) will update Gillette Stadium’s videoscreen with an integrated LED videoscreen. The new system, which will be installed this summer, prior to the start of the 2010 NFL season, will feature updated technology behind each end zone.
Fans of the New England Patriots and New England Revolution will enjoy, at the south end zone, a 41.5 x 164-ft.-wide, high-definition videoscreen. The system will present live and recorded video images, real-time stats, colorful animation and graphics. The existing video replayboard and advertising signage will be replaced with digital technology. The three large displays in the south end zone can controlled as multiple zones (windows) or separately as one giant display. The overall south end zone display system will feature approximately 6,800 sq. ft. of digital displays.
The north end zone will feature a 45 x 100-ft. video display that can show high-definition video feeds. Comprising three sections, this display will replace the existing videoboard, and static and rotating advertising displays. The north end zone display system will total approximately 4,500 sq. ft.
Daktronics’ control system will integrate the LED ribbon board displays’ scoring, timing, video and messaging components.
Daktronics has equipped 29 of 31 NFL venues and 10 of 16 MLS venues.
