(Cue a symphony playing a John Philip Sousa patriotic march) Sign industry professionals, many have worked tirelessly to promote and enhance your profession. From stalwart advocates such as John Lamb, who testified before Congress that the sign industry shouldn’t bear the brunt of the 1970s energy crisis, to the many visionaries and technicians who’ve developed better products that have improved your productivity – and your profits.
Increasingly flexible media, more colorfast inks and stouter laminates have similarly bolstered the vehicle-wrap market. Ever since ST decided to separate Vehicle Graphics into their own competition in 2007, I’m increasingly amazed by the artistic and technical qualities of the submissions we’ve received. On August 8, staff from Advertising Vehicles, a large vehicle-wrap shop less than a mile from our office, served as judged for our 8th Annual Vehicle Graphics Contest, sponsored by Mimaki. The results will be published in our October issue, as well as on www.signweb.com. Based on the judges’ scoresheets from the initial round of voting, I selected 10 entries for the Readers’ Choice survey. The assemblage of vans, buses, food trucks and boats represented a broad swath of the wrap market, and we hope you’ll take the time to have your say and pick your favorite. CLICK HERE TO VOTE.

The Readers’ Choice winners will also be published in October, along with several comments left by survey respondents. So, feel free to leave polite and insightful comments about the competition field.

Voting concludes at midnight on Friday night, so don’t delay. Give a shout-out to your fellow industry professionals, and have your say!
