HP Matte-Finish Canvases

Materials designed for aqueous ink-printing, fine-art-quality reproductions

Hewlett-Packard (HP), Palo Alto, CA, is introducing two matte-finish, canvas fabrics designed for aqueous-ink printers: HP Professional Matte Canvas and HP Artist Matte Canvas. According to the company, the media, which it states are optimized for its DesignJet printers, contain a proprietary coating that yields superior-quality image reproduction for print-service providers and fine-art reproduction companies. The materials offer enhanced flexibility, and HP states the substrates will stretch, fold and mount without cracking the image. HP Professional Matte Canvas contains a bright-white finish on a two-over-one weave with a larger color gamut. HP notes that it’s ideal for museum-quality art and photo reproductions. Hp Artist Matte Canvas comprises a one-over-one weave and is suggested for longer production runs of art reproductions and photo enlargements.

HP offers the material in 50-ft. lengths and 24-, 35-, 42- and 60-in. widths
